Manta Ray Migration
On another scuba diving adventure off the coast of Indonesia, I got to see giant three-metre-wide manta rays swimming straight towards me. For what seemed like hours, I watched in wonder as the manta rays continued their migration journey. Their smooth and elegant movements were mesmerising, and I felt incredibly grateful to have been able to witness such a spectacular natural event.
Later that evening, I saw the most incredible sight: a massive conglomeration of smaller manta rays passing right by a small pier. The rays were gracefully gliding through the water, so densely stacked one on top of the other that the sea bottom was obscured from view. Thankfully I had a camera and took one of my most treasured ever pictures. Unfortunately I had to leave the spectacle and run off to dinner, but I knew that this experience would stay with me forever. The memory of those majestic manta rays will always be a reminder of the beauty and grandeur of the natural world.
